I have worshiped with some of the finest Christian ladies. Over the years we found ourselves serving in different churches, and I wanted to find a way for us to serve together, and to bring others in to serve, without worry of church affiliation. Some ladies have fallen out of church, but still have a desire to be among other Christians. And while this ministry will never try to take the place of church, I feel that this ministry can help them find a place to serve by putting different people together.
As for me, my name is Annette (Loper) Thames, and I lived my entire childhood in Denham Springs, and moved to Watson after I married David Thames. We had 2 kids, Brett and Meagan, who are now both married and raising their own families in the Watson community. I've spent my entire life in church and have taught Sunday School for the past 30+ years. I love women's ministry, with a special passion in facilitating Bible studies.
While I have been carrying this desire to begin a community ladies' ministry, life kept pulling me in other directions. In 2022, my husband died after a lifelong battle with kidney disease. With my kids grown, and with some urging by close friends and family, I decided it was time to begin hosting Bible study, with the hope that it would turn into this community ministry of ladies serving together, across multiple Christian denominations. As we began meeting, I could see the need for ladies to fellowship together, and the rest is God making things happen. I do hope that you find your place among these sisters.
